Halloween Affairs
I believe this is the time of year we've all been waiting for. We go out all dressed in costumes galore. Scary movies/specials are all the rage these days. Haunted houses and corn mazes are designed to give people a scare. Every child is looking forward to the giant stash of candy they hope to accumulate. Adults are looking forward to parties. Man I love Halloween.
But I have a problem with it. As much as I love dressing up in costumes, I can't help but see that most women's costumes are slutty. Why. Why make such things? Why make one of my favorite holidays so...I can't even.. I can understand us women looking cute, but...why? It saddens me to see representations of a certain theme I'm interested look so...unattractive? Why ruin and lower my options of dressing up this year?
Ladies, what makes you think that most costumes are so revealing? You approve or disagree? Fellas, you guys like seeing women dressed as that? Let's see what both sides have on this.
Oh well, luckily for me I already have my costumes. One to fulfill my gamer needs and the other to fulfill my pretty girl needs. What are they? A cute maid and/or Pikachu. (Yeah, Pikachu. Have hand buzzers to shock whoever I touch. Muahaha.)
Now that that's out of the way, what will I do? Party? Nah. I'm going to a haunted house with some friends and trick-or-treating the rest of the night through. (No one is too old to get candy.) What's everyone else doing for Halloween? Any people dressing up? Anything exciting? Lemme know.
Enjoy your night of SPOOKS....and candy. Peace.
I have the biggest issue with revealing outfits! Some ladies make it seems impossible to wear clothes that aren't revealing.. Not only during Halloween, but on a daily! But anyway Zoe, I hope you enjoy yourself on Halloween!
ReplyDeleteI'm jealous :( I have never been trick or treating. Honest. I want to but I will be at church :/ I don't have a problem with that at all, but I do want to experience trick or treating. Anyway, I agree with the slutty attire. I have such a sense of respect for women. I can't stand the display of which they put their bodies on. Smh. As Keisha said, I hope you enjoy your Halloween. Happy scaring!
ReplyDeleteYou definitely have a point about people being anxious about Halloween but me personally it's just another day for me. I don't really do anything for Halloween EVER! I honestly hate seeing costumes period and females in general the revealing costumes bother me because you do not have to reveal to be cute. You should post a pic of your costume! I know it's probably unique. :)
ReplyDeleteCostumes are getting too slutty. I never have dressed up for Halloween because of religious reasons. But this year I think I'm going to a haunted house. Hope you enjoy your Halloween though.
ReplyDeleteI can't speak for all guys.. I suppose, but I tend to avoid going out and partaking in any sort of festivity simply because of reasons like that. So no, I don't enjoy seeing the sultry costumes. I've been out to parties before and when the theme appears to be "Nightmare Stripclub"... well.. you can imagine. Yes it may be interesting to see particular costumes, but seeing that most people go out and buy the "sluttiest costume possible" doesn't appeal to me. On the other hand, if said person was able to fabricate her (or his?) own elaborate and stunning costume, I'd say it'd be a different story. In the end, I prefer dressing up as Batman, cape and all, and riding my 'Bat-Bike' around town. Anonymous, nerdy, and pathetically cool the entire time =P.
ReplyDeleteBut Zoe, PLEASE dress as Pikachu! Hope's the haunted house go's very well =).
If anyone is interested there's a church in Tulsa, Oklahoma named "GUTS" if I recall. They put on a haunted house scene that is enough to scare the s**t out of you. Sign a waiver and pay roughly ten bucks, and after a short wait, you walk through a rather lengthy course for one hell of a time.
I don't really know what I am going to do honestly.... haha You Halloween sounds really exciting and fun! I will most likely just hand out candy! To me as I am getting older (I am an old married woman ;D jk but i feel that way sometimes!) I really enjoy seeing all the kids different costumes and being the one passing out candy!
ReplyDeleteConsidering that I went as the Dead Baby Tree from Cormac McCarthy's novel Blood Meridian this year, it's safe to say that I failed to meet the Slutoween standards.
