Adventures as Distractions...
....I just realized that I haven't blogged at ALL. Ugh, the intense struggle of being out and about in the world. Seriously, why does our need for being social get in front of our need to do our work?
Man, I'm not even gonna lie, I really think that my brain is melting with all these distractions. From being a girlfriend to being an extremely social butterfly, odds are amazing adventures fly into my life.
Last night me and my friend Elaina spent HOURS across the street of Rawls Hall and just spoke to three guys we really didn't even know. (Yeah, that social need kicked in.) It was hilarious and different- we all managed to get along very well.
Today...oh today. This has been the biggest distraction/adventure EVER. Ladies, you know your day has just gotten 10x better when you get asked by your friends to go shopping with you. I enjoyed shopping...kinda. I seriously went into stores I NEVER thought I'd see myself in. For the first time, I went into Charlotte Russe and Body Central. (I'm more of a Hot Topic, FYE, Old Navy, Cato, Target, Walmart, and thrift kind of girl. I prefer superhero shirts way over girly tops with the backs almost missing.)
Once I got back from the mall I went to Ian's house to shoot my newly acquired rubber band tommy gun, air soft guns, bounce on the trampoline, and play Final Fantasy III (kindle) or Robot Unicorn Attack 2 (phone). I managed to see a shark fetus for the first time, too. It's just the feel of being relaxed and stress free that gets me in the mood to ignore my priorities.
I wish to tell more but I'm tired. One thing before I sign off, what amazing things make you hold back your academics? I have a really long list, and I want to know what gets you guys in the mood to procrastinate.

I am with you, Zoe. Work and life are what allow me to procrastinate. And then this week has been a bad cold with tis lovely weather changing, though I do love fall!! I have to seriously schedule out my day hour by hour if I want to be productive and if I don't my social and random self will definitely find other things to occupy my time!
ReplyDeleteI love my backless tops.. what's wrong with that? Ahh procrastination.. The Vanguard of our destruction. Succumb to the temptation and ride the wave straight to unproductiveness (or does it?). Hannah, I'm with you on that one (and I hope you feel better=[)! Hour by hour planning is probably the most accurate description of a working college student. Hmm, what gets me in the mood to procrastinate..? I'd have to say writing about my views on procrastination. I don't consider being much of a talker, but I can severely rant and rave about certain things without even realizing it. The exact same thing happens when I decide to "make" something. For example; I'm sitting at my desk trying to grasp a mathematical concept and my brain has a misfire. I begin to doodle on my notes, usually random shapes or simple mechanical devices (bolts, hinges, brackets.. you know, the fun stuff). Lo and behold, I realize I can build a mold and cover it in resin to.. Oh, I'm doing it again.
ReplyDeleteOne giant fuster cluck is my answer. Air soft guns.. there's an idea!
Procrastination is the name of the game for most people. Fall weather and Foyle's War are my two main culprits at the moment.
